Z-Block - Precision Height Presetter

When you're changing tools all day, little things matter. I bought this hoping it'd save a bit of setup time and it's done exactly that. You can tell this was designed by someone who actually spends time around machine tools.

I've used a few different Z-height presetters over the years, and this one has quickly become my go-to. The oversized 1.5" contact pad sounded like marketing until I actually used it. It genuinely makes tool touch-offs easier and more repeatable.

It's way easier to hit consistently with larger tools compared to some of the other presetters I've used. The magnets on the bottom are also stronger than I expected and make setup quick when I'm working around the mill. Solid piece of equipment. No gimmicks, just accuracy and good design.

The block-style body gives it a nice stable feel, and I really like having the magnetic base option. Makes it easy to fixture in places where other presetters want to slide around. The dial is easy to read and repeatability has been excellent so far.
The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because I'd love to see a protective storage case included. Other than that, it's a great tool.

I've been machining and setting tools for over 20 years, and sometimes the simplest tools end up being the ones you appreciate the most. Very happy with it and would absolutely buy another one if I needed it.
