Identibolt Pro

The Identibolt Pro is a precision bolt and thread identifier machined from 6061 aluminum and ABS plastic. It lets you match any unknown bolt, nut, screw, or washer to its correct thread size in seconds. It was built for mechanics, fabricators, machinists, welders, woodworkers, electricians, and anyone who works with hardware regularly.

It covers 14 metric sizes from 4mm x 0.7 up to 14mm x 2.0, and 14 Imperial/SAE sizes from #6-32 up to ½"-20. That covers the vast majority of hardware you'll encounter in automotive, fabrication, woodworking, and general shop use.

Yes. Both systems are built into the same unit. Each plate shows both a male stud and a female threaded hole for every size, so you can check either end of your hardware without flipping anything around.

Drop your bolt into the threaded holes on the plate until it threads in cleanly with no play, or press your stud against the male threads to match the pitch. The fit that is snug but not forced is your size. Each opening is sized for a specific diameter-and-pitch combination, so you can identify bolt pitch, not just diameter. The plates also detach from the main unit, so you can carry a single plate directly to your workpiece instead of walking back and forth to a fixed gauge.

Both inch and centimeter rulers run along the edges of the plates. Lay your bolt, screw, drill bit, or washer against the edge to read its length directly. No calipers required for basic length checks.

Standard bolt gauges are usually stamped sheet metal with limited sizes and less precise pitch identification. The Identibolt Pro uses full-profile CNC machined threads, covers both male and female hardware, includes integrated rulers, detaches into separate plates, and mounts magnetically. It is built as a shop tool, not a basic reference gauge.

The Identibolt Pro is loaded with embedded magnets that let it snap securely to any ferrous surface, like a tool cart, lift post, machine cabinet, or truck tailgate. On non-magnetic surfaces like aluminum workbenches, wood, or drywall, you can use the included mounting holes. Just run a screw or bolt through and it stays put wherever you need it.

The plates are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum with a hard anodized red and blue finish. The docking station uses ABS plastic. This keeps the tool rigid, accurate, and lightweight enough for daily shop use. The Identibolt Pro is built to handle drops, grease, and regular use, and it is backed by a 5-year warranty.

The Identibolt Pro covers the most common metric and SAE thread sizes used in everyday shop work. The Identibolt Pro XL extends that range for larger hardware. If your work involves heavy equipment, larger structural bolts, or industrial fasteners, the XL may be the better fit.

To maintain the Identibolt Pro, wipe the plates with a clean rag after heavy use and use compressed air to clear any swarf, metal shavings, or debris from the threaded openings. Replacement plates are also available, and additional plates are sold for different Identibolt PRO System configurations. Plates are interchangeable across thread types and configurations, with one rule: left plates swap with left plates, and right plates swap with right plates.
