Auto-Punch

The body feels heavy-duty without being bulky, and it doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart. Definitely one of those tools you don't realize you needed until you own one.

I've bought just about every automatic center punch on the market at one point or another. Most work fine for a while and then lose their snap. This one feels like it was actually built for people who use tools every day instead of once a month.

I've gone through more center punches than I can count over the years, and most of them either quit hitting hard enough or start sticking after getting covered in shop grime. Right out of the box it feels solid, not like the cheap import stuff you find everywhere. The adjustment is smooth, the strike is consistent, and it's been dead-on for laying out holes on steel plate.

I bought this mainly for drilling out broken bolts and marking holes before stepping up drill sizes. The thing just works. The strike force is easy to adjust, and it leaves a clean mark without having to carry around a hammer.
